Introduction

SINOPEC SRH and SLHT technology is designed to deeply desulfurize straight-run diesel feedstocks alone or blended with small amount of cracked materials, producing low or ultra-low sulfur diesel products.
In these two processes, the hydrogen required for the reactions is dissolved in the mixture of fresh feed and recycled oil, and then feed mixture with dissolved hydrogen is sent to the reactor where the liquid is in continuous phase while the small amount of extra-added excess hydrogen gas is in dispersed phase. With SRH/SLHT process, there are several benefits including the elimination of the recycling hydrogen compressor and relevant equipment, avoiding the hot spots in catalyst bed, less light gas but high liquid product yield with high quality, and the low energy consumption.

Technical Characteristics

1. No recycling hydrogen compressor is needed due to no circulation of recycle gas, contributing to low operating cost. The energy consumption can be reduced by more than 20% compared with that of a conventional hydroprocessing.
2. As a carrier of fresh hydrogen into the reactor, the recycle oil can increase the hydrogen content of the reactor; meanwhile acting as a heat sink that removes heat from the reactor, the recycle oil can lower catalyst bed temperature rise and avoid hot spots, thus prolonging catalyst life, reducing yields of light gas and increasing diesel yield. The small excess hydrogen gas in dispersed phase can ensure supplying the required hydrogen for the reactions, reducing the amount of recycle oil and energy consumption.
3. The first catalyst cycle length is 3 years. The regenerated catalyst can be used and the total catalyst service life can be up to 9 years.
4. The operating flexibility of this process unit is 60 ~ 110 %.
