Introduction

SINOPEC single-stage in series hydrocracking technology is used to convert a wide variety of heavy feedstocks including VGO or the blends of VGO, CGO and DAO into low molecular weight products for petrochemical applications.
This technology can be divided into three process configurations: FMN for maximum heavy naphtha used as catalytic reformer feedstock, FMC1 for maximum tail oil as ethylene plant feed and RHC-C for more naphtha or naphtha plus tail oil. These processes produce high quality jet fuel or diesel. Two reactors in series are used for this technology, the first one is loaded with hydrotreating catalyst and the second is loaded with hydrocracking catalyst. According to the process objectives, the once-through mode (FMC1) or some products (fractions higher than naphtha or tail oil) partially or fully being recycled mode (FMN or RHC-C) can be applied.

Technical Characteristics

1. This technology is mature, reliable and has variable product slate and large operation flexibility.
2. It has strong adaptability to feedstocks and is able to process VGO or the blends of VGO, CGO and DAO.
3. The products from FMC1 are of high yield and good quality. Heavy naphtha can be used as catalytic reformer feedstock directly. The LPG, light naphtha, and tail oil are excellent feedstocks for ethylene-plant. The naphtha from FMN is of high yield and superior in quality.
4. This technology has many commercial applications. There are no special problems of safety and environmental protection during catalyst production and unit operations.
