Introduction

SINOPEC CGP process is a technology for catalytic cracking of heavy oil including VGO, VR, DAO, etc. to produce clean gasoline with low olefin and sulfur content while maximizing propylene yield. The products by CGP technology have light olefins, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), gasoline, intermediate cuts and fuel oil.

Technical Characteristics

1. Operating flexibility
The CGP technology provides operators with flexibility to switch among different operation modes based on product demands.
2. Feed adaptability
The CGP process has now been developed into a platform technology, able to process various feeds including VGO, CGO, AR, VR, HVGO, RDS and DAO.
3. Performance
Compared with conventional FCC process, CGP process can produce much more propylene and LPG, and less dry gas, meanwhile increase total liquid yields. The CGP can also reduce sulfur content in gasoline, and increase iso-butane in LPG.
4. On-stream time
The on-stream time for CGP units is almost the same as that of conventional FCC units, usually 3 to 5 years.
