Introduction

Traditional processes for capture of CO2 in flue gas have critic problems of high energy regeneration cost, big degradation loss of the solution, severe equipment corrosion. SINOPEC has developed a new technology for the capture of CO2, which consists of a formulation of amine solvent and supporting technology. This technology is suitable for the capture of low partial pressure CO2 from gas boiler flue gas, coke oven gas, reformed gas, coal-fired power plant flue gas, coalbed methane, oil associated gas, lime kiln gas, carbon exhaust, etc. Compared with the traditional monoethanolamine method, the new technology has obvious economic and social benefits.


Technical Characteristics

1. Compared with the traditional monoethanolamine method, the ability CO2 absorb of amine solution is 15%-40% higher, and the regeneration energy cost is decreased by more than 30%.
2. The amine absorption solution solves the problems of amine degradation and corrosion, therefore the operations is stable without frequent replacement of solution.
3. The plant has short construction period and low investment costs.
