Introduction

Methanol to olefins technology is a new route for the production of basic organic raw materials from coal or natural gas. This technology provides an effective way to bridge the coal chemical and the petrochemical industry. S-MTO technology is a proprietary technology developed by SINOPEC. It takes coal or natural gas as raw materials, to produc light olefins via methanol. S-MTO technology can be applied in coal or gas to olefins process, the revamp of ethylene cracker, PVC process and coking process etc.

Technical Characteristics

-With high-performance S-MTO catalyst and fluidized-bed reactor, the loss of catalyst is small. The methanol conversion is high. The selectivity of ethylene and propylene can be high.
-The ratio of ethylene and propylene can be adjusted from 0.85 to 1.25.
-The applicable purity of methanol is 80-100 wt%, which can reduce the cost of methanol purification process.
-Front de-ethanization process is adopted, in which the ethylene recovery rate is high, and the purity of ethylene and propylene can be polymerization grade.
