Introduction

Cumene is the raw materials for the production of phenol and acetone. More than 90% of phenol in the world is from cumene process. The main use of phenol is to synthesize phenol-formaldehyde resin and bisphenol-A. Besides, phenol is also widely used in the production of synthetic fiber, synthetic rubber, plastic material, medicine, agricultural chemicals, spice, dyes and coating material.

Technical Characteristics

1. Efficient catalyst
The catalyst is of high stability, high selectivity and is regenerable. The benzene to propylene molar ratio can be reduced to 2.0. The propylene conversion can reach as high as 99.99%, while the catalyst life span is more than 5 years. Moreover, hot benzene wash is not needed in the life span.
2. Maximum feedstock flexibility
S-ACT cumene process can produce high purity cumene from refinery-grade propylene, polymer-grade propylene and chemical grade propylene.
3. Low material and energy consumption
More than 95% of thermal energy can be recovered.
4. High product quality
The purity of cumene product is more than 99.95%, and n-proplybenzene is less than 300 ppm. The contents of ethylybenzene, butylbenzene, α-methylstyrene and non-aromatic hydrocarbons are very low.
5. Least environmental impact
The S-ACT catalyst itself does not contain any substance that would cause environmental problem. The process, which is friendly to the environment, will cause no corrosion.
